As an expert level wallower and negative nelly, I approve of your intentions to eschew positive thinking and stoic forbearance. You have endured both the neoplastic insult and the violations of medical intervention, no matter how life-saving. Complain till it feels better is what I say. Also, I loved your book, there's some positivity for you.

This is certainly not a pointless outburst. It sounds like an enormous amount to process and I, for one, am certainly more than happy to indulge you in working through it. I hope the treatment goes well and we get to hear more from you when you’re feeling up to it.

Ah yes, Positive Thinking, or is Toxic Positivity. As someone whose 3 months out from breast cancer treatment I fully encourage embracing the negative. It took me quite some time to do so and I did in large part because I realized I was relegating my non-positive feelings to the shadowlands, that murky domain of demons. Better out than in I say.

Best of luck. Sending 💚

Hope you’re feeling better and glad to hear you’re on the other side! The pressure to be peppy about it all is sometimes almost as bad as the anxiety about the disease!

Absolutely. TBH I'm actually still unraveling the experience and realizing how much I tried to gloss over it...
